Greece, Navagio Zakynthos, Beautiful BeachFancy getting away from it all and heading to sunnier climes? Who doesn’t!  There are a wealth of destinations to choose from, whether you fancy a fortnight doing nothing but relaxing by a pool, or prefer a week exploring ancient ruins and historical sites.

The great news is you don’t have to travel far to find your slice of paradise.  Jet off to a sunny short haul destination such as Spain, Italy, France or Greece and you’ll be there in just a few hours.  Greek holidays have something to suit everyone, with many different islands dotted in the Ionian and Aegean Seas.  If you’re looking for a classic bucket and spade beach escape, why not head to Crete or Corfu?  There’s miles and miles of golden sand stretched alongside glittering turquoise seas, just waiting to be discovered. Spend lazy days topping up your tan and enjoying the water sports along the coast, then get ready for more action by night.  When the sun goes down, the nightlife heats up in these resorts, so get ready to dance the night away. If you fancy a slower pace of holiday, mingle with the locals in traditional white washed villages in Kefalonia or Zante. Enjoy quiet meals with the family in rustic restaurants and explore the breathtaking views from the rugged mountains.

If you’d prefer a long haul escape, there are plenty of cheap holidays in Florida to choose from.  With the thrilling theme parks, tropical beaches and buzzing nightlife, there really is something for everyone in Florida.  It can be a very busy destination due to its popularity with families, so if you’re looking for a more romantic tropical escape, why not head to Cuba, Jamaica or the Dominican Republic?  Many of the resorts are all inclusive with their own private beach areas, so you can enjoy a fortnight of pampering without having to leave the safety and comfort of your hotel.

  1. Visiting Florida in the summer can mean it will be really hot, but because it is the “low” season you can find great deals. We stayed at this lovely family run place in Fort Myers where we had a terrace onto the marina, with a bbq and were across the street from the beach, it was just 50 a night. This was a few years ago, so I unfortunately forget the name of the place, but we found other such deals in central/south Florida in the summer :)
